Businesses looking for staff and people looking for work are hoping to be united as part of the Supporting Businesses back to Business initiative.
Businesses looking for staff and those looking for employment are urged to call 03 4411 7901 to help them get matched with what suits them.
The initiative is being supported by Committee for Echuca Moama, Sureway and Echuca Moama Tourism, as well as the Riverine Herald and EdgeFM.
Sureway Employment and Training area manager Scott Thomson said it was a fantastic opportunity.
“There are options out there, there are chances to get people into the workforce, and there are businesses who are looking for staff as well,” Mr Thomson said.
“This initiative is something special for our community and surrounding areas in that it gives us the chance to find people and jobs and place where they are best suited, which will be great for getting things moving.”
Mr Thomson said it would also help to identify the direction of the local workforce.
“I think it's an opportunity to bridge the gap,” he said.
“We will start to understand the needs of the local workforce a bit better as the initiative goes on, which opens the doors for partnerships with training providers and those areas to get more people skilled up in areas our town needs.”
C4EM chief executive Deanne Armstrong said it was a great opportunity for the community.
“There are going to be a lot of new opportunities that come out of this initiative, and we hope it has a long term impact,” she said.
“It's an opportunity to understand what we need in our community and what we can do to keep our industry going and keep people in our community employed.”
