A search for rental properties on realestate.com.au found there were no houses available for potential renters.
While there were several homes listed for sale, many were already listed ‘under offer'.
Charles L King Cohuna director Rohan Ibbs has seen first-hand just how hot the market has become.
In the past month, the company has sold some houses just hours after they were listed on the market.
“Two houses sold within six hours last week,” Mr Ibbs said.
“Normally at this time of year we would have the odd sale. What we’re experiencing at the moment is like nothing I’ve seen before.
“There have even been times when some properties aren’t reaching the market. It doesn’t seem like it will slow down either.
“We’ve had a lot of people wanting to make the move from Melbourne, similar to what larger towns have been experiencing.”
And according to Mr Ibbs, the news isn’t great for people who might be looking to enter the property market in Cohuna.
“We’ve got a long list of potential buyers who are in regular contact with us,” he said.
“Just in Cohuna alone there isn’t too many empty blocks which haven’t been sold. All the sub-divisions have been snapped up as well.
“The town is only going to continue to grow in the coming years.”
