And clearly managing two stores - one in Echuca and another in Mount Gambier - isn't an issue for owner Cindy Patzel.
“We've been working hard for six months to build up our image again,” she said.
“We made the move from Hare Street to here in High Street and we've just seen everything boom from that alone.”
After being nominated by head office, the team in Echuca had to write a written submission and explain why it deserved the award.
“We've been really putting the Collins name out there, whether it be through print and radio media or our free social media platforms,” Ms Patzel said.
“And we like to keep out audience interacting with us too.
“I like to post our top 10 picks of the week and new stock for both books and other items like puzzles. You just promote what you have.”
And all the hard work has paid off with the store being named in the top three Collins Booksellers in Australia.
“We're so thankful for the support from locals and travellers who come in to the store,” Ms Patzel said.
“Even after a tough year due to COVID-19, we still managed to take home an award like this.”
Collins Booksellers Echuca is open seven days a week and can provide you with anything from novels to cookbooks and even school textbooks and texts.
You can find them at Shop 2/519 High St, Echuca.
