“We are pleased to be commencing our clinic for the Echuca-Moama community from today,” executive director of nursing June Dyson said.
“Vaccinators from our nursing team are administering the AstraZeneca vaccine to members of the community over the age of 50, or those under the age of 50 years who choose to have it.
“We have ample supply to support the rollout in our community and meet the demand.”
ERH is working closely with Bendigo Health and the Department of Health to continue the rollout of the AstraZeneca vaccine to the local community and the Loddon-Mallee region.
“We ask members of our community to do their bit to keep themselves and the community safe, by ‘getting the jab done’,” Ms Dyson said.
On Friday, Australia surpassed 2.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered in Australia and more than 30 per cent of Australians aged over 70 have received their first dose.
“Please, if you are in that age group make that booking, go to your GP if you have concerns about the vaccine, the benefit of the vaccine absolutely outweighs any risk,” Australia’s chief medical officer Professor Paul Kelly said on Friday.
“It’s really important, particularly as we’ve seen with the case in Sydney – this is the time to get the vaccination to protect yourself.”
The clinic is open from 10 am to noon and 1.30 pm to 3 pm from Monday to Thursday, until June 3.
Access to the clinic is via the ERH Service St entrance. Check in as per visitor protocols and proceed to follow signs to Malka Room. No appointments are necessary and Medicare cards are required.
