With the event raising $4093 for the cause, organiser Aleisha Laws said everyone was thrilled by the collective support.
“Our original goal was $1000 and then closer to the day, knowing what we had on auction, we expected maybe a couple of grand, but four grand was well beyond what we expected,” Ms Laws said.
“The support was ridiculous. Everyone spent money on the day and bid on items.”
After Victoria went into a COVID-19 lockdown days before the event, Ms Laws said she and fellow organisers Tegan Hadjialexiou and Karli O’Callaghan were worried about how that could affect the event.
“When lockdown first happened, we lost about 20 people who had pre-purchased tickets, but we then ended up re-selling all of them,” Ms Laws said.
“Our limit even before this was 72 people and we had 72 people there on the day.
“The majority of those people were from Mathoura, but we also had a few people from Deniliquin and a few from Moama.”
Live music and games entertained the group, while the silent auction and sale tables all sold out.
In the main raffle, Barb Hussey took out first prize of a two-night cabin stay at Picnic Point with dinner at the Timbercutter, while second prize of a $200 photography voucher went to Raelene Fox.
The third prize - a $100 catering voucher- was won by Leanne Quinn, while fourth prize of a $100 beauty voucher went to Sarah Hadjialexiou.
A fifth extra prize on the day - a voucher to Three Black Sheep in Moama - went to Maureen Billet.
Lucky door prizes were won by Anne Robertson and Val Childs.
Ms Laws thanked all the businesses and individuals who supported the event.
