ERH has administered 3838 doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines to date, which includes some second doses.
“We have been more than happy with the community response, but we know there is more work to be done and we encourage the 40 to 49-year-olds and over-50s to attend our clinics,” ERH infection control officer Lyn Golden said.
“ERH can be proud of our staff vaccination uptake, with almost 70 per cent of staff now vaccinated, the highest for health services in our region.
“This ensures our patients’, residents’ and community safety.
“The clinics would not be successful without the dedication of our staff vaccinators and auxiliary staff, and we thank them for their efforts in supporting the community.”
The Pfizer clinic opened last Friday and is open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm with bookings required via erh.org.au/covid-19-vaccinations
It is only available to 40 to 49-year-olds or people under 50 who work in certain industries or have underlying health conditions. A full list of eligibility is available on the ERH website.
The AstraZeneca clinic does not require bookings and is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 2pm to anyone over the age of 18 who chooses to have it.
ERH director of community services Cynthia Opie thanked everyone who had presented for a vaccine so far.
“ERH is excited to now offer the community both the Pfizer and the AstraZeneca vaccines to assist in preventing COVID-19 transmission,” she said.
“Everyone is encouraged to refer to the ERH website to determine vaccine clinic days and times, availability and what to bring to the appointment.”
To access the COVID-19 vaccination clinic enter ERH through the main entrance on Service St and follow the signs. Medicare cards are required.
COVID-19 vaccines are also available through local GPs and Njernda Aboriginal Corporation.
