Nominations open for Murray River Council's 2022 Australia Day awards

Murray River Council residents are encouraged to nominate people they think have made an outstanding contribution to the community for the 2022 Australia Day awards.

“Australia Day provides a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge those individuals who volunteer so much of their time to ensure community services, initiatives and other important activities continue to prosper across our council area,” mayor Chris Bilkey said.

“It’s also a great platform to recognise individuals and groups who have made achievements in a range of pursuits including sports and the arts.”

Nominations are being accepted in the categories of citizen of the year, young citizen of the year, sportsperson of the year, young sportsperson of the year, community event of the year, community group of the year and arts/cultural award for a person or group.

Nominations can be completed at and close on November 5.yoursay.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au

“Don’t be shy. If there is someone in your community or group that deserves a nomination, I encourage you to nominate them today,” Cr Bilkey said.

The awards will be presented on Australia Day, January 26, 2022.
