Attendees can sing-a-long, wave a candle to the music, grab a snag from the sausage sizzle, or go in the running to win a number of lucky program prizes that are on offer, such as a Bunnings voucher or a voucher for a photographic shoot.
This year the event has been moved to the main oval in Moama, off Kirchhofer St, due to floodwaters having not receded far enough near the Moama Soundshell.
The event is being jointly organised by the Moama Lions Club and Murray River Council.
Moama Lions president Colin Hosking said it was an ideal opportunity for community members to take some time out after a very stressful last few months.
“It’s time to take a break and just celebrate Christmas with our fellow community members,” Mr Hosking said.
“Don’t forget to bring your blanket or chair and some mosquito repellent.”
Moama Bowling Club, Moama RSL, Rich River, Epicentre Church Op Shop and Visit River Country will sponsor the event.
All profits made from the event will go towards flood relief fund, which is being dispersed by the Echuca Neighbourhood House.
The Moama Carols by Candlelight will be held from 6.30pm to 9pm on Sunday, December 18, at the main oval off Kirchhofer St.
Moama Lions have advised that the Carols by Candlelight will be held in conjunction with their recruitment drive. Posters will be up around the event for anyone interested in becoming a member.
The line-up and performers are yet to be announced.
