This contest focuses on showcasing the hidden talents of the community, with the opportunity for residents to develop creative artwork that represents some of the unique towns in the region.
Entries close on Sunday, August 6 at 10pm.
The competition is open to all ages, and artists are encouraged to use their favourite physical media technique to create an original art piece that represents one of the following communities: Shepparton, Mooroopna, Tatura, Dookie and Murchison.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said this was an exciting opportunity to showcase the talented people residing in the region.
”We are very excited to see the amazing talent in our region,“ Cr Sali said.
“This contest is a great opportunity to celebrate our colourful community and showcase the creativity of our residents.”
A shortlist of pieces will be assessed and judged by a professional judging panel, who will crown a total of five winners: one art piece per town.
Winners will be announced at noon on Monday, August 14 via Shepparton & Goulburn Valley social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.
Finalists will be invited to attend an awards ceremony where the winning artworks will be revealed and prizes presented.
The winners will receive an art package, including a voucher for art supplies, entry to an art workshop and more.
The winning artworks will be celebrated through a limited-edition print run of coffee cups to be featured in cafés and restaurants across the region.
Entries are open to all ages and skill levels; for further information and contest guidelines, visit shepp.city/artcontest
Artworks are to be submitted via council’s website.
