“The sun shone, people ran, people walked, there were kid on scooters and we had over 70 that did the 8km event, with the Shepparton Running Club acting as pacers in it.
“We had people in teams representing loved ones they might have been walking for, and Melissa Gilmore the breast care specialist with GV Health in oncology spoke. She was just amazing, really touching, inspirational and kind.
“I’d also like to acknowledge our MC, Vicki Scott. She’s amazing, she’s been undergoing her own cancer journey. She was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer last year.
“She wouldn’t miss the event this year, she’s just so inspirational and people can see that.”
All money raised at the event goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The funds raised from the weekend were not yet tallied up, but Ms Fuller said that no matter what the total ended up being, every dollar made a difference.
“Whether we raised a million or a dollar, it could be that last dollar raised that contributes to raising that money for finding a cure for breast cancer,” she said.
