The family-friendly production is sprinkled with vibrant characters and unforgettable songs, following young Charlie Bucket as he embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
The heartwarming journey takes the audience through a world of candy, mystery and moral lessons.
The show has an original score composed by Marc Shaiman, with lyrics by Mr Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
The soundtrack pays homage to Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley’s score from the 1971 film, with songs such as Candy Man, I’ve Got a Golden Ticket, Oompa Loompa Song and Pure Imagination featuring in the show.
The production combines a talented local cast and crew who are dedicated to bringing the magical world of Willy Wonka to life.
The cast will feature Livani Palmer as Charlie Bucket alongside Robert Kemp in the iconic role of the quirky chocolatier himself.
A cast of 39 other performers will join Charlie Bucket and Willy Wonka, including a merry band of Oompa Loompas.
“Bringing this story to the stage has been a true joy for all of us,” director Peter Read said.
