The brawl erupted after spectators ran onto the ground moments after the final siren on Saturday.
It’s unclear exactly how the brawl began but players and spectators were involved in the fracas, which lasted for several minutes in the middle of Mooroopna Recreation Reserve.
Spectators supporting both sides streamed into the middle of the ground following the final siren.
Lancaster won the game by 10 points in torrid conditions.
Police were eventually called to the scene and were interviewing spectators half an hour after the melee calmed down.
KDL president Fraser Kerrins, speaking to the crowd following presentations of premiership medals, called the brawl “disgraceful”.
“It was unbefitting of the competiton we represent in the Kyabram District League,” he said.
“Everyone needs to take a good hard look at themselves before they return in 2023.”
Police at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve declined to comment.
