That is because organisers have been forced to cancel the Bamawm Christmas Tree event for 2020.
It is estimated the night has been run for more than 50 years, during which time it has spread joy to the local community with all children in attendance receiving a present along with dinner.
Event president Tameaka Collins said she was disappointed the event, which would usually attract about 250 people, would not be going ahead.
“The decision had to be made because we need to keep everyone in our community safe,” she said.
“For the event to go ahead it would have meant we needed to put in a lot of extra work, and we just couldn’t ask that of people.”
While the Bamawm community might not be able to celebrate as one, the organising committee has already said it would be doing its best to spread the joy.
“Everyone who attended last year will still receive a card and present in the mail,” Tameaka said.
“It might only be something small but we still want to do everything we can to make it the most normal Christmas possible.”
