The annual fundraiser supports the growing number of Australians diagnosed with blood cancer including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other related blood disorders.
Currently, 47 Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer every day.
To do his bit, the Grade 3 Lockington Consolidated School student has been growing his hair out for more than a year.
His mum, Kayla, said he had seen the Leukemia Foundation’s ads on TV — with chins dressed up as people.
“He came to me at Christmas (2019) and said he wanted to grow it to raise money,” she said.
“Those chin ads — he calls them potatoes – so he wanted to raise money for the potato ads.”
William has already raised more than $1200 and will also be donating his hair for wigs.
He will be having his hair cut in Echuca, by Chloe Ellis, on March 12.
William asked everyone to please donate.
To do so, visit bit.ly/3icr5O4 or search ‘William Forster’ on the World’s Greatest Shave website.
Donation boxes are also available in Lockington at Giddings Co supermarket and Ciurleo’s Ice Cream and Waffle House.
