On March 11, the event hosted by 20 new Beacon leaders from Echuca-Moama’s five schools was the foundation’s first opportunity to thank sponsors and encourage new support.
“We are very fortunate to have such incredible support from local businesses and community members, ensuring the continued success of the program,” Beacon Foundation project manager Jane Reid said.
The tasty breakfast was catered by Radcliffe’s and featured a number of guest speakers including Campaspe Shire's Ben Hearn, Echuca College principal Simon Wood and past leaders Ella McCormick, Allira Hornsby and Paige Doherty.
Ms Reid said she was pleased to see the event go off without a hitch and that it was a great opportunity for the students to better themselves.
“The Business Breakfast is a wonderful opportunity for our new Beacon Leaders to plan, organise and run their first event with the support and encouragement of the local community,” she said.
“Public speaking is just one of the many skills developed by our leaders throughout their year, which will see them plan, manage and conduct various events including the careers expo, mock interviews within their school community, the pathways pledge ceremony and the annual general meeting.
“Thank you to all those involved in the program, from sponsorship to volunteering their time.”
The Beacon Foundation is eager to discuss new opportunities for partnership and can be contacted on info@beaconem.com.au if you would like further information.
