Beacon’s Pathway Pledge Day back in action

The Beacon Foundation held a successful Pathway Pledge Day on Tuesday, August 16 at Echuca Twin Rivers Specialist School, the first time the event has been held in two years.

Students from Echuca College, St Joseph’s College, Moama Anglican Grammar, River City Christian College, and Echuca Twin River Specialist School gathered to pledge their commitment to further education, training, or employment at the completion of Year 10.

About 390 students in total pledged their commitment, as well as representatives from organisations and companies around the twin-towns, including Campaspe Shire Council, Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning & Employment Network, Moama Bowling Club, Moama RSL, Rich River Golf Club and many others.

Guest speaker Dr Dean Freestone, originally from Echuca, spoke of his journey from an apprentice at Peat’s Office Equipment after leaving Echuca High School at Year 10, to co-founder and chief executive officer of Seer Medical.
