The units, located at Spoonbill St, were constructed as part of the Opening Doors Project, which helps people who require assistance 24 hours a day.
CLRS chief executive officer Leah Taaffe said the completion of the units was another significant milestone for the community-based organisation.
“These two homes enable two gentlemen to live independently in the community, in an environment specifically designed to meet their needs,” Ms Taaffe said.
“All of the CLRS Opening Doors Projects provide homes for 22 disabled people in our community.”
The two new homes in Moama mark the successful end of one project and the start of a new one next year.
It is the latest chapter in a proud history of the Opening Doors Project, stretching back to its inaugural build at Minor St, Echuca, in 2014.
“Every one of you has now enabled 22 different homes to be created, and I don’t have the words to express our gratitude to you for enabling us to deliver these great outcomes,” Ms Taaffe said.
EDG Space designed and built the units, using innovative technology and housing solutions.
Ms Taaffe said the projects required a team effort to come to fruition.
“Thank you to our Project Control group – Leanne Cuffe, Lauren Davy, Nicolina Devitt, Elaine Hamilton and Damien Hogan — for their support and input on the project,” Ms Taaffe said.
“Alastair McDonald and the team at EDG, a fantastic local boutique building design firm, have again created a space that considered practical needs, comfort, warmth and beauty.
“They have delivered another excellent design. An outstanding project manager has managed this project.
“CLRS would also like to thank every sponsor and supporter of every fundraising activity we have done in the past and will do in the coming years.
“Every time you provide sponsorship or a grant or buy a ticket or attend an event, you are helping us to create these wonderful homes for people who otherwise would not have an opportunity like this in our community.”
