One day, while in the Cake Maker’s Daughter getting a drink owners Makadde and Nicole Male proposed selling some bouquets from their premises.
“Once Mandy told us about the move, we were so excited for her,” Makadde said.
“Then we had a think and felt it would be good to have a space in town for people who need to grab some flowers on short notice.
“So we suggested having some in here, and Mandy loved the idea. And she’d already been thinking about something similar.”
A deal was struck, and Cake Maker's Daughter now sells Blooms on Bridge bouquets.
“So it’s worked out well for both of us,” Mandy said.
“I had thought about the Cake Makers but wasn’t sure if I should be harassing other businesses to help.
“So when they suggested it, I said I’d love to collaborate.”
Blooms on Bridge has now officially moved premises.
“We closed the doors to the shop on the Thursday before Good Friday,“ Mandy said.
“Then, took advantage of the long weekend to make the move.
“We’ve been operating from our new home-based studio for two days, and it’s going great.
“We are delivering fresh bouquets to the Cake Maker's Daughter every day.
“At the moment, we’re still experimenting with the space and what fits well.
“But we’ll have a few different sizes and varieties of flowers available every weekday.”
You can purchase a bouquet from the Cake Makers Daughter from 7.30am to 2.30pm weekdays.
