But one of the biggest has been the new hygiene rules many have to deal with.
Sanitiser is no longer a helpful addition, it is a mandatory part of every venue.
Masks range from mandatory in Victoria to popular in parts of NSW.
Social distancing is also mandatory for patrons and staff alike.
The changes have provided an added cost to operators already on a thin line due to extended shut-downs during the pandemic.
But Bundaberg Rum has done its bit to ease the pain on the Border Inn, after donating a sanitiser dispenser, extra sanitiser containers, masks and floor markers for social distancing.
Border Inn publican Adie Daly said the additions were a great help.
“It definitely helps out with the cost,” he said.
“These additional expenses are problems for all publicans, but are also unavoidable. So we are incredibly grateful for the assistance.
“The sanitiser at the door is easily accessible for all our patrons, and the masks are especially helpful for when we have to jump back over to Echuca for tasks as part of our operations.
“We are incredibly grateful for the assistance they have provided us.”
