A celebration of local artists, the Hometown tour will feature Darcy Ramage, Madi Colville-Walker, DJ Luke Macpherson and of course, Isaiah Firebrace.
Isaiah said the free performance was a joint initiative between the artists, Always Live Victoria and Live Nation, who are working towards getting musicians back on stage after the pandemic.
He said there was also an ulterior motive behind providing the free show – and that was to give something back to the community after the devastating floods.
“This is a very special performance for me because I grew up here. This is where it all started for me,” he said.
“To perform in Echuca’s Paramount Theatre is also very nostalgic for me because I used to visit here all the time as a kid.”
Describing the show as being “fun and energetic,” Isaiah said he was trying to make the concert as personal as it could be so the audience could feel him on a deeper level.
Supported by a band that has toured with him over the past five years, he will be performing a mix of crowd favourites and covers.
“I really want people from this community to see how much I’ve grown,” he said.
In the lead up to the performance, Isaiah has visited his former primary school and secondary college – Echuca 208 Primary School and Echuca’s St Joseph’s College.
He said it was like a trip down memory lane.
“It was a really cool experience,” he said.
“I saw so many familiar faces and it just kind of felt like I was coming full circle by visiting all these old places again.”
Using his platform to empower First Nations youths, Isaiah said he hoped the performance could spark inspiration within the community he is from.
“If my story can be used as inspiration for somebody or can show somebody that with hard work you can achieve your goals then that would be incredible,” he said.
“I enjoy using my platform for change, that is something important to me and I hope people can use my life as an example that there is bigger world out there for them to see and be a part of, if that is what they want.”
This will be Isaiah’s first performance in Echuca Moama since 2019.
Isaiah said he was looking forward to seeing familiar faces in the crowd.
He hoped attendees could come together and have a bit of a dance and sing after a rough past couple of months.
The Hometown performance will be held at the Echuca Paramount Theatre on High St from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, December 11.
The performance will be in conjunction with Isaiah’s latest release titled First Christmas.
