Award-winning photographer from Melbourne, Julie Powell, is visiting Echuca-Moama this weekend and has workshops open for locals to test their photography skills.
Two workshops will be running on Saturday aimed from beginner photographers to more experienced shutter bugs.
‘Introduction to Camera Basics’ will run from 10am until noon on Saturday.
The workshop is aimed at those just starting out and those who want to upgrade their photography skills.
If you’re not sure what settings to use, or you’re stuck on ‘auto’ mode, or you haven’t picked up a camera in a while, this workshop is for you.
Ms Powell will be going through the basics of camera operation and photography, and attendees are invited to bring their cameras and any gear they have including tripods.
Weather permitting, the class will take a wander out into town, but if not, the class will run inside.
Tickets for the event are available for $45 per person at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/introduction-to-camera-basics-tickets-341405762827
‘The Art of Still Life Workshop’ will run from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday.
This workshop is also aimed at beginners and intermediate camera users, but more experienced photographers are more than welcome.
Ms Powell will be teaching attendees how to create classic still life photographs, both light and dark, as well as helping budding photographers get off automatic mode and gain confidence in manual and aperture priority modes.
There will be opportunities to learn with both artificial and natural lighting sources, as well how to use flash.
Attendees are required to bring a DSLR camera, or mirrorless camera that can have lenses changed, as well as a tripod, spare battery and SD cards.
A 35-50mm lens, or 24-70mm lens is suitable for this class, and a remote shutter release is an optional extra.
Tickets are $95 per person and are available online at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/the-art-of-still-life-photography-pm-session-tickets-341406404747
