Anyone starting to plan their summer camping trips will be in for a pleasant surprise, with Parks Victoria saying it will halve campsite fees at its bookable campgrounds across the state.
“Through (the) Victoria’s Great Outdoors (investment), there are more opportunities to stay in nature, with new and upgraded campgrounds being planned right now,” Parks Victoria’s Kylie Trott said.
More than $1.5 million has been invested in the Parks Victoria camping booking system, which the agency says means improved functionality for anyone wanting to stay at one of the 131 bookable campgrounds.
Bookable campgrounds in the north-east include sites in the Lake Eildon and Mt Buffalo national parks.
The booking improvements include instant confirmation and advanced filtering to help people choose from fully serviced sites with luxury tents right through to remote campsites.
The Victoria’s Great Outdoors initiative is also funding the construction of new and upgraded campgrounds across the state, as well as improvements to four-wheel drive routes from the Alps to the Mallee and upgrades to walking tracks from the Otways to Central Victoria.
