Along with Crossenvale House and Rochester Community House's FoodShare program , Elders Real Estate's Alastair Lias said ensuring organisations and programs like these keep running is important.
“Times are tough and we are all facing challenges in our lives, work and business,” he said.
“We can't sit back and hope things will get better, hope that everyone is safe and has a meal to eat every day.
“Charities in the local area are active in looking after those that don’t always a meal to eat. And some people that have never needed these services may now do so or soon will.
“This is why I am organising a charity auction to be held soon to support those that support others in the Echuca-Moama and Rochester areas.”
The funds will allow these organisations to continue to purchase and keep food to give to those around the communities who need it most.
“We really appreciate this support,” Echuca Neighbourhood House manager Sarah Peake said.
“This will allow us to sustain our Foodbank program and allow us to ensure everyone who needs assistance will get it, we're very grateful.”
Because of COVID-19, the event will be held online.
“Once we have enough donations, the auction will go live with online bidding, eBay style, over three days,” Mr Lias said.
Mr Lias said the team are happy to take more items to auction off.
“We currently have four donated items, but we are hoping for more,” he said.
