Campaspe parks come to life

Rochester children were included in the Campaspe Stadiums Parks Week celebration when the skatepark was brought to life last week.

Hundreds of organisations across Australia and New Zealand held events between March 4-12 to celebrate the vital role parks play in creating liveable cities and thriving communities.

Parks Week 2023 had a focus on promoting how spending time in our parks and open spaces positively influence the wellbeing of the population.

Rochester, Echuca and Tongala all hosted Parks Week events, with a free Fitness 45 class at the Tongala Soundshell, followed by the Rochester event for two-to-five-year-olds.

Campaspe shire kickstarted Parks Week 2023 by supporting the ParkRun event at Echuca. This community-led free event involved people walking, jogging, running, volunteering or spectatating by the beautiful riverside path.

Studies have shown that walking in a park and spending time in open spaces can positively improve your health and wellbeing. There are many beautiful parks and outdoor spaces for locals and visitors to enjoy across Campaspe Shire.
