Car enthusiasts put on a show

Seymour’s Second Annual Show ’n’ Shine revved up lots of interest on Monday, March 14.

More than 400 cars were on display at King’s Park on Labour Day, according to initial numbers from Seymour and District Car Club president John Phoenix.

“It was a big day out and everyone we talked to said they were very impressed,” he said.

“We had approximately 435 cars through the gates.”

Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn events committee secretary Regina Young said more than 4000 people visited the event and fundraising efforts went well.

“The auction was a great success, which will enable us to put the event on next year,” she said.

“We’re all looking forward to 2023.”

The event was organised by both the car club and the Lions and Ms Young said it was a huge effort from all involved, including Lions Club volunteers from Broadford and Euroa.

“A big thank you to all the volunteers from both clubs for a terrific effort,” she said.

“The Lions Club did so much planning for this over the last six months.”

There were 18 awards for the best cars on the day, including best Holden pre-1960, best English car and best Japanese car.

Mr Phoenix thanked the car club for its help on Monday.

“I can’t thank them enough for all they did,” he said.
