Both of the Deniliquin RSL Diggers Mid Week Pennant sides were successful at home on Wednesday, Division 2 against Echuca and Division 3 over Tongala, to retain their respective positions within the top four.

In Division 2, RSL won on two rinks while Echuca prevailed on the other.
RSL 61 d Echuca 49.
Tony Tonta (s), Ian McKenzie, Cheryl Bradley and Gary Hulm had a great tussle in their match.
They led 12-10 after the 17th end, but Echuca proved the steadier from that point on, taking eight shots over the final five for a solid 5-shot victory.
Echuca 18 d RSL 13.
Craig Taylor (s), Ian McKenzie, Ken Bowden and Jo Chick led 17-16 after 13 ends, and a continuation of consistent bowling saw them take seven of the remaining eight ends for a well-deserved victory by six shots.
RSL 25 d Echuca 19.
Jenny Tonta (s), Gary Koopman, Wayne Bradley and Miro Peterman had the day’s best result.
Leading from the front, they were never headed, with all players contributing in a consistent overall effort for an 11-shot victory.
RSL 23 d Echuca 12.
Division 3 was successful on both rinks, with skippers Neville Austin and Jim Jennings leading their respective teams to victory.
RSL 48 d Tongala 23.
Neville Austin (s), Peter Todd, James Rhook and Niels Hilton drew level at 6-6 on the seventh end, then took a five on the following end and were never headed from that point onward.
RSL 20 d Tongala 14.
In the other game, Jim Jennings (s), Archie Webster, Ian Chessells and Gaye Goodwin shook off their opposition on the ninth end to lead 11-4 and took complete control from that point on.
They took nine of the remaining twelve ends for an emphatic victory by 21 shots.
RSL 28 d Tongla 9.
Tuesday’s Midweek matches and the Weekend Pennant games last weekend formed part of the Campaspe Bowls Association’s cancer pennant rounds.
In these rounds, money raised from green fees and raffles are donated to a charity of choice.
The Deniliquin RSL Bowls Club was able to make a donation of $1000 to the Deniliquin Can Assist as a reult of the two days of play.

It’s been a busy week for the RSL Bowls Club, which also hosted a special tournament at the weekend.
The skins bowls tournament was held Sunday.
This pairs event is a three bowl game, with 15 ends, from two ends.
Winners were the Lake Boga pair of Danny Kelly and Peter Philip.
Deniliquin players featured in the other placings, with Paul Clear and Jason McCloy coming second and Craig Taylor and Lindsay Dalzell placing third.
