Established nearly five years ago by the Amaranth Foundation, the Corowa Food Bowl has been a lifeline for the Federation Council community, distributing nearly two tonnes of food weekly to residents in need.
Managed by Amaranth community coordinators, the Food Bowl not only provides essential supplies but also serves as a crucial support hub during times of crisis, including recent local flooding and ongoing bushfire recovery efforts in the Snowy Valleys.
This funding allows Amaranth to expand its outreach efforts, providing food, clothing, and health essentials to approximately 300 local residents, including those in satellite towns like Oaklands and Urana.
“We are proud to be part of ClubGRANTS and contribute to the welfare of our community,” Club Corowa CEO Peter Norris said.
“This grant highlights our commitment to supporting local initiatives that make a tangible difference in the lives of our community.”
The grant from Club Corowa will enable the Corowa Food Bowl to enhance its services, ensuring continued support for vulnerable community members.
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest grant programs, providing more than $100 million in cash each year to a variety of worthy causes across NSW.
Charities, sporting organisations and not-for-profit community groups are among tens-of-thousands of worthy causes funded through the program each year.
With more than $1 billion in funding provided since the program’s inception, ClubGRANTS is without doubt one of the largest and most effective grant programs in Australia. The program is made possible through the support of NSW clubs, local councils and the NSW Government.
