And a milestone whose value has soared following the sudden and fast-spreading outbreak in Shepparton last week.
On August 18, Katamatite’s June Wood rolled up her sleeve to receive the clinic's 5000th, as the community sets the pace for the rest of the state to follow.
National Cabinet and all the health experts have agreed ‘coming out day’ is somewhere between 70 per cent and 80 per cent of the population fully vaccinated.
NCN Health chief executive Jacque Phillips said: “Rural communities thrive when they support each other and work together for a common goal.”
Cobram’s trendsetting 5000 vaccinations – and counting – are part of the 50,000 vaccine doses delivered across the north-east Victorian region by Goulburn Valley Health, Mansfield District Hospital, Kilmore Health, Seymour Health, Kyabram District Hospital and NCN Health, with support from Yarrawonga Health.
Ms Phillips congratulated the district on its achievement and encouraged everyone to keep up the hard work.
“The Cobram Vaccination Clinic is working hard to protect our community against this virus as vaccination is our strongest defence yet and the value of high vaccination rates in our communities cannot be overstated,” she said.
Cobram’s clinic offers Astra Zeneca and Pfizer. To book your appointment, contact the clinic on 5871 950, the coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398 or book online at portal.cvms.vic.gov.au
“The vaccination rollout continues to be a huge public health effort and I congratulate all the teams involved and the Cobram residents who have responded so enthusiastically,” Ms Phillips said.
