Cohuna Fire Brigade secretary Paul Miller said everyone was welcome to come down to celebrate the past and look forward to the future of the brigade.
“We will continue to do what we do best and that is to support the people of Cohuna and district along with the wider CFA with an excellent fire and emergency service,” Mr Miller said.
The station has come a long way since opening in 1922.
The brigade’s first vehicle was a 1928 Dodge fitted with a Gardiner Aussie fire fighter pump which cost £233 at the time.
Compare that to now, the brigade has a medium pumper with road crash rescue equipment.
In 2015, the brigade received its own rescue vehicle and then in 2021 the brigade became the principal road crash rescue provider.
Next year the brigade will be updated with a new state-of-the-art road crash rescue appliance.
Mr Miller said the brigade planned to continue it’s history of great success at the Fire Brigade Championships after returning in 2021 after a 20-year hiatus.
“The Cohuna brigade has been successful over the last 100 years on the competition track,” he said.
"We will continue to be involved in this aspect of the fire brigade as it is an excellent recruiting tool which helps keep our members fit and promotes teamwork, leadership and firefighting skills.”
The event is at the Cohuna Fire Station at the corner of Sampson and King Edward Sts, Cohuna on Saturday, October 29 at 8.30pm.
