More details have emerged about a fatal crash at Shepparton East on Friday, that claimed that life of a five-year-old girl.
Police believe a silver Toyota Landcruiser, a black Ford Territory and a White Toyota Landcruiser collided at the intersection of Old Dookie Rd and Boundary Rd about 2pm.
The driver of the silver Toyota, a 26-year-old Shepparton woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Her passenger, a five-year-old girl died at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 32-year-old pregnant woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries where her unborn baby later died.
The driver of the white Toyota, a 33-year-old Shepparton man, and his passenger a 22-year-old Katandra West man were taken to hospital for observation.
Major Collision Unit detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20, 4.10PM:
A child has died in a three-vehicle crash at Shepparton East on Friday, October 20.
Police believe three vehicles collided at the intersection of Old Dookie Rd and Boundary Rd at about 2pm.
The child who died at the scene is yet to be formally identified.
Two adults from two vehicles were flown to a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries.
Two adults from a third vehicle were taken to Goulburn Valley Health for observation and were in a stable condition at 5pm Friday.
The child is the 37th person to die on our region’s roads since New Year’s Eve.
Officers are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

Emergency services are attending the site of a crash in Shepparton East on Friday, October 20.
The three-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Boundary Rd and Old Dookie Rd at about 2pm.
The air ambulance helicopter landed on scene at 2.45pm.
Boundary Rd is closed between Hosie Rd and New Dookie Rd.
Old Dookie Rd is closed between School Rd and Pine Lodge South Rd.
