The brigade and its volunteer members will show their thanks to the community with an open day and 150th celebration this Sunday from 11am to 2pm.
Everyone is invited.
Brigade community relations officer Ian Addicott said it would mean a lot to every volunteer to have plenty of locals drop in on the day.
“We want to thank our community for all its support across those 150 years,” Mr Addicott said.
“We are planning a fantastic demonstration at the station in High St, which will also include six veteran fire trucks, with a 1925 Graham Pumper adding to the nostalgia.
“Even most of our volunteers get a kick out of seeing that one — and wonder how on earth brigades 100 years ago could have been successful with gear like that, let alone checking out what their predecessors were using 150 years ago.
“Visitors who might be a bit nervous about the trucks on show need not panic — they will be able to see our cutting edge equipment up close and personal, so they should be pretty relieved.”
There will be a host of festivities as part of the open day.
The public can enjoy everything from a sausage sizzle and fairy bread through to a jumping castle, water push fire trucks, children’s helicopter and photo board.
But wait — there’s more.
“It’s all free,” Mr Addicott said.
“That’s another part of our volunteer members saying thank you to everyone who is able to drop in and say hello.”
Echuca CFA covers the biggest town in Campaspe Shire and is a pivotal station for many of the smaller, surrounding brigades, as it is able to provide all sorts of support services.
They range from maintaining and filling air-breathing equipment to its state-of-the-art communications systems.
“Our visitors will be able to tour the station and see how it all comes together once we get our 000 call,” Mr Addicott said.
“And unfortunately, from years of personal experiences, they always seem to come somewhere between midnight and 4am.”
Echuca CFA is located at 290 High St, Echuca.
