Next Gen Connect aims to link like-minded people through social and learning events.
The group will host its first get together on Wednesday, December 6 from 5.30pm at the Shamrock Hotel, Echuca.
Campaspe Shire Council Acting Mayor Tony Marwood said after working with employers across the municipality, council recognised a gap in the market and pursued the idea of forming a group to connect young people.
“The group isn’t just about connecting people who already live here, we’re encouraging those who have recently moved or are new to the region to come join the fun,” Cr Marwood said.
“Establishing a network of young, like-minded people where we can foster professional relationships and encourage growth is what Next Gen Connect is all about.
“Young adults in the region shouldn’t be put off thinking it’s another young professionals group.
“Next Gen Connect is looking for any young person wanting to expand their connections.
“Whether you’re a lawyer, hospitality worker, farmer, tradie, administrative worker, student, the list goes on.
“We’re about providing an opportunity to create meaningful impacts and connections through the group.”
Next Gen Connect aims to be fun and inclusive. The group plans to provide a mix of different events and rotate them around the region, showing off the wonderful activities and sights of Campaspe.
“If you’re an employer with an employee be sure to encourage them to get involved in the group to help them establish local connections,” Cr Marwood said.
“If you’re a young person who’s interested in meeting people, having fun and learning, come along and see what it’s all about.”
Light refreshments will be provided.
