Greater Shepparton City Council officially unveiled the “rural outdoor pools” in Mooroopna, Merrigum and Tatura on Saturday, December 2.
Council’s rural outdoor pool co-ordinator Molly Kennedy said opening the aquatic facilities was a cherished event for the community, marking the beginning of summer traditions.
“These facilities are the backdrop for countless memories, where families and friends gather to enjoy the Australian summer for a tradition that forms part of who we are,” Ms Kennedy said.
“Whether you’re a keen swimmer or looking for family-friendly fun, these facilities provide a safe and relaxed experience for everyone.”
The Greater Shepparton summer family pool membership makes a return this year, granting district families five months of unrestricted access to all three rural pools, in addition to Aquamoves’ indoor and outdoor pools and the splash parks at Aquamoves and the Merrigum pool.
Priced at $295, the membership covers five individuals (with a maximum of two adults), allowing the inclusion of more members at additional upgrade costs.
The rural outdoor pools will be open to the community every day until March 11.
