The program looks to those impacted by the October 2022 floods, including families, groups and individuals.
It offers funding of up to $10,000, plus GST if applicable, to eligible not-for-profit groups, social enterprises and creative organisations.
Examples include the provision of community capacity building initiatives, events and programs that bring the community together and increase social connection.
Campaspe Shire Council chief executive Pauline Gordon said she believed the program would help improve resilience and flood readiness.
“Building community capacity and enhancing emergency preparedness are key priorities for us,” she said.
“These grants will empower our community organisations to develop and implement initiatives to strengthen our ability to face future challenges with greater confidence and preparedness.”
Ms Gordon explained that the grants could make a large impact on community groups, with each eligible applicant able to submit up to five applications.
“We are committed to ensuring that recovery needs are well understood and that our interventions are evidence-based,” she said.
“We encourage all eligible organisations to apply and take advantage of this one-off opportunity.
“We recommend you contact our Recovery Team to discuss your event or program before submitting your application to ensure your event or program is eligible.”
All funded activities must be completed by April 30, 2025.
