After operating at reduced hours since June 15 — and being closed prior to that — the service desk will once again be staffed for five days a week from Monday, September 26.
Council director of corporate services Chris Teitzel said council was pleased to be able to reopen the customer service counter five days a week once again to better service the needs of the community.
“Council experienced a tough few months with staff shortages, meaning we had to operate the customer service counter at reduced hours,” he said.
“We are pleased to be able to open the counter Monday to Friday once again and welcome people inside the office to make an inquiry, complete a payment or lodge an issue in person.
“We thank the community for their ongoing patience and understanding during this time where we have operated our customer service counter with limited opening hours.”
The counter will be reopening to the public Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm, from Monday, September 26.
The counter will be open this Wednesday, September 21 from 9am to 3pm. It will then be closed on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 for the national day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II and the AFL Grand Final eve public holiday. The counter will then reopen on Monday, September 26 from 9am to 4pm.
Mr Teitzel reminded the community that when the counter was closed people could still contact council via phone, email or the website.
“Council can be contacted via phone on Monday to Friday between 8.15am and 5pm (except on the public holidays), or via email or our website. Residents do not need to attend the counter to reach us, there is plenty of ways to get in contact with our friendly staff,” he said.
