Here’s everything you need to know.
Greater Shepparton City Council
Council will close from 3pm on Friday, December 23, and reopen in the new year at 8.15am on Tuesday, January 3.
The closing dates and times includes the council’s customer service phone.
If an urgent matter arises, community members are encouraged to phone 5832 9700 and follow the prompts.
Council’s customer service counter will reopen at 9am on Tuesday, January 3, and continue to be available Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
Riverlinks
Riverlinks venues, including the box office, will close from 3pm on Friday, December 23, and reopen at 10am on Tuesday, January 3.
During the holiday break, tickets will still be available to buy online via the Riverlinks website.
Encore Cafe will close permanently from 3pm on December 23.
Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre
Apart from Christmas Day, the Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre will continue to open 9am to 5pm, seven days a week.
Shepparton Sports Stadium
The Shepparton Sports Stadium will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday, December 21. Doors will reopen for casual use in 2023 on Monday, January 9, at 9am.
Regular stadium programming will resume on Monday, January 16.

KidsTown
Due to flood damage, KidsTown is closed until further notice.
Aquamoves
Aquamoves will close on Christmas Day and remain open at varying times during the holiday season.
Outdoor pools – Mooroopna, Tatura and Merrigum
The Mooroopna, Tatura and Merrigum outdoor pools will be closed Christmas Day.
All three outdoor pools will operate Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 1pm to 5pm, and all other public holidays from 1pm to 7pm.
All other days the pools will operate as follows:
Mooroopna:
Pre school holidays: Monday to Sunday from 1pm to 7pm.
School holidays: Monday to Sunday from 1pm to 7pm.
Post school holidays: Monday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm, and weekends from 1pm to 7pm.
Tatura:
Pre school holidays: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, and Monday to Sunday from 1pm to 7pm.
School holidays: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 6.30am to 8.30am, and Monday to Sunday from 1pm to 7pm.
Post school holidays: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 6.30am to 8.30am, and Monday to Sunday from 3pm to 7pm.
Merrigum:
Pre school holidays: Monday to Friday from 3.30pm to 7pm, and weekends from 1pm to 7pm.
School holidays: Monday to Sunday from 1pm to 7pm.
Post school holidays: Monday to Friday from 3.30pm to 7pm, and weekends from 1pm to 7pm.
All above hours are subject to change.
If temperatures are forecast for 24ºC or below, the outdoor pools will be closed.
When the temperature is forecast to be 38ºC and above, the pool opening hours will be extended.

Activities in the Park
The final activity in the park for 2022 will be held on Sunday, December 18.
The program will return in 2023 on Wednesday, January 4.
Resource recovery centres/landfill
All centres will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Further times can be found below.
Shepparton RRC
Operating hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 8am to 4.15pm.
Sunday and other public holidays 9am to 4.15pm.
Murchison RRC:
Operating hours: Wednesday and Sunday 1pm to 3.45pm.
Cosgrave RRC:
Operating hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 3pm, Saturday 9am to 11am.
Cosgrave RRC will be open Boxing Day.
After-hours animal management service:
During the Christmas closure, council offers an emergency after hours ranger service to deal with animal management emergencies.
The service will operate from 3pm on Friday, December 23, to Tuesday, January 3.
Services include livestock on council-controlled roads, stray dogs, dog attacks, injured or sick animals, and other emergency situations.
To report an animal emergency, phone 5832 9700 and press 1.
To report non-emergencies such as barking dogs and wandering cats, phone 5832 9700 from Tuesday, January 3.
Shepparton Animal Shelter
The Shepparton Animal Shelter will close at noon on Friday, December 23, and reopen at 10am on Tuesday, January 3.
All animals at the shelter will be cared for by staff during this period.
For all shelter inquiries, phone the after hours service on 5832 9700.
For lost animals or potential pets that may be at the shelter during this time, leave contact details with the after-hours service.
Owners with microchipped animals that are at the shelter will be contacted between December 28 and December 30 to schedule collection appointment.
Long day care/kindergarten/pre-kindergarten/family day care/rural occasional care
Services regarding the long day care and family day care will be closed from Friday, December 23, and reopen on Monday, January 9.
Children will be able to attend from Tuesday, January 10.
Kindergartens, pre-kindergarten and rural occasional care will close from Tuesday, December 20, and reopen on Friday, January 27.

Maternal and child health service
All centres will be closed from 3pm on Friday, December 23.
From Wednesday, December 28, to Friday, January 13, a reduced service to cater for newborns will be available at Balaclava Road MCH Centre, Riverside Plaza MCH Centre and Mooroopna Children and Families Centre (Mooroopna Primary School).
Normal services resume Monday, January 16, and open sessions will be discontinued until further notice.

Greater Shepparton Business Centre
Greater Shepparton Business Centre will close at 3pm on Friday, December 23 and reopen at 8.15am on Tuesday, January 3.
Goulburn Valley Libraries
All branches of Goulburn Valley Libraries, including the mobile library, will close on Saturday, December 24.
The administration centre will close at 5pm on Friday, December 23.
From December 25 to 27 inclusive, and January 1 to 2 inclusive, Goulburn Valley Libraries will be closed.
The libraries, including the mobile library, will open on all other days as per usual operating hours.
