Last year the Mathoura Gun Club conducted a very successful ‘Pink Shoot’ with proceeds from the sale of pink shoot shirts going to Mathoura’s Bra Fence - the local charity fundraising entity which supports those suffering from cancer.
Well, while this year’s event will not be held until October, orders for the 2024 shirts (sizes children’s to 7XL) are now being accepted.

Mathoura Public School students had the opportunity to learn more about Aboriginal history during NAIDOC Week activities last week.
The school had a special visit from Uncle Rick who conducted a smoking ceremony followed by an artefact presentation.
The visit enabled the students to expand their knowledge of Aboriginal history and culture.

While Melbourne Cup Day is still some time off, locals and visitors are reminded that the Mathoura Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting a function on the day.
The venue will be the Community Centre in Lawrence St.
Attendees can be assured of a great day out with food and refreshments as well as door prizes and raffles.

Mathoura Public School will host a special Public Educational Week assembly today.
The event, from 2.20pm, will feature musical items, presentation of bronze certificates and merit awards as well as two special Public Education Week awards.
The event is open to all.
