Council has eight sitting councillors, three representing the Greater Wakool and Greater Murray wards, and two from the Moama Ward.
The Riv reached out to all eight councillors to confirm their intentions for the September 14 election.
In the Moama Ward, Mayor Frank Crawley will re-contest his position.
“It was an easy decision,” he said.
“This term, because of COVID, was only for two years and nine months, not the full four years ... progress was stalled also by the October 2022 floods.
“We’ve made a lot of progress, but there’s a lot more to be done.”
Cr Nikki Cohen, also representing the Moama Ward, confirmed she would not run at this election.
“I’ve really loved my time,” she said.
“I’ll perhaps do it again in a few years’ time, but I think have some fresh eyes.
“I’ll still hopefully be doing some volunteer work in the community, which is how I started out.”
For the Greater Murray Ward, Cr Kron Nicholas said he intended to run while Cr Tom Weyrich has not confirmed his plans. Cr Geoff Wise said he was unsure what he would do.
“Some days I think ‘yes’ and some days I think ‘no’,” he said.
“I’m not sure.”
Cr Ann Crowe, who represents the Greater Wakool Ward, will not re-contest her position. Deputy Mayor Neil Gorey will run again, while Cr Dennis Gleeson said he was unsure but was leaning towards running.
“At this stage I probably am, to represent the rural area,” Cr Gleeson said.
“But I’m not sure ... I’ve got a lot on my plate.”
