Creative Arts Exhibition showcases talent of CWA

From delicately knitted blankets to meticulously preserved fruits, the recent Creative Arts Exhibition hosted by the Eastern Goulburn Valley CWA showcased artistry and creativity beyond just “sewing and cooking scones”, group president Cathy Shields said.

The event was held at the Shepparton East community rooms, and when entering the venue, attendees were met with the aroma of freshly baked cakes and the vibrant colours of over 500 entries.

The event stretched over two days with judges on hand to evaluate the entries.

After all due diligence, prizes were awarded to the winners.

As attendees savoured a delicious lunch and afternoon tea, they were reminded of the association’s vital role in the community, providing support where needed.

According to Mrs Shields, this exhibition was particularly special because it was an opportunity to showcase some of the things that CWA members do.

She said the exhibition was a chance for the association to demonstrate that “it is still very much alive”.

The event was a resounding success, with the community coming together to celebrate the talents of these extraordinary women.

“It is a chance for members to come together, show off their talents, bring the community together, and raise awareness of the association’s work,” Mrs Shields said.
