To celebrate the official opening of the store by owner-operator Scott Moller and Murray River Council Mayor Chris Bilkey, families were entertained by Razor the Raptor and his cuddlier friends, the baby dinosaurs.
Children enjoyed face painting from Natasha at Enchanted Rainbow and free samples of the new exclusive chocolate ice-cream.
Cr Bilkey welcomed McDonald’s into the town and congratulated the Mellors on getting the store open in time for the Southern 80 weekend.
“I hope that the staff that now work for this McDonald’s find like my kids did that it’s a great stepping stone to future jobs and employment teaching them about how to work, turn up on time and be part of a team,” Cr Bilkey said.
“I hope this McDonald’s is like the grit in an oyster. It’s the start of a pearl and this Moama area, here and down the streets further, is going to grow and grow and McDonald’s will end up being at the heart of it.”
Store manager Zac Bell-Keedie said it was a terrific day.
“I’m really proud of my new store team, the families have had a great time and the crew have loved having the dinosaurs here today,” he said.
