Direct line to North Pole re-established in Echuca

Local children have been given a line to the North Pole, with Santa enlisting help to reinstate mailing services to Echuca before Christmas.

Returning for its third year, the direct express mailbox began shipping letters to Santa on Sunday, November 17.

A spokesperson for Santa said kids were encouraged to share their Christmas wish list, their interests and hobbies, and their pitches for the naughty or nice list.

Letters have already begun to pile up, with last year’s North Pole service receiving over 120 envelopes, the spokesperson said.

Children who wish to receive a reply from Santa can leave a return address on their letter, with a response usually delivered in around two weeks, pending weather conditions at the North Pole.

While Santa has modernised his reply system due to increased demand, the spokesperson assured children that each response was carefully considered by Santa.
