In the past 12 months, 1292 road fatalities have been recorded, with fatigue contributing to about 20-30 per cent of fatalities and crashes.
Driver Reviver will operate more than 150 sites at roadside rest stops and Visitor Information Centres during the Easter holidays and Anzac Day public holiday.
Driver Reviver national manager Ashley Pittard said stopping to rest while on road trips can save lives.
“A break to stop, rest, revive and refresh could save your life and your loved ones’ lives,” he said.
“Tragically, based upon national statistics, over 100 Australians will be killed on the roads during April – which is a scary fact and justification to not drive tired and take plenty of breaks.”
The initiative relies on thousands of volunteers from organisations including Lions Clubs, SES and Rotary who serve free Bushells tea, coffee and Arnott's biscuits to help drivers manage fatigue.
