ONE of the rising stars of Echuca business has been honoured at the 7News Small Business Achiever awards.
James Hayes, founder and owner of ALPHA tyres, finished third in his category for small business achievement.
Mr Hayes's business provides 24-hour mobile service to passenger, truck, agriculture and 4WD clients.
He said it was a proud moment to be acknowledged.“It's nice to get a pat on the back for what we have done,” he said.“We've put a lot of hard work into building the business, so to have someone on the outside celebrate you for what you have achieved is really exciting.”Starting without any capital or loans, ALPHA has grown to include three fully equipped trucks and a physical shop front. But Mr Hayes said he wasn't done yet.“I'm often thinking about what we will do next,” he said.“You have to stay in the moment to an extent and focus on what is happening in the business at the time, but it's also exciting to think ahead and start to plan what you could do next.“We've been able to do a lot with the business so far and we are really proud of what it has become, but part of growing the business is always looking forward at what we might be able to do next.”But the future can be discussed later, and Mr Hayes said he was happy to enjoy the moment.“We had a really good night with the other nominees,” he said.“It was great to be a part of the process and to be recognised for what we've been able to do as a business.”MORE LOCAL NEWSMoama Anzac Day services capped at 500Number of Echuca hospital staff fall ill after receiving COVID-19 vaccineEchuca Moama Bridge tracking for 2022 completion
