FIVE teachers from Echuca College took centre stage on Wednesday, March 31, to take part in the World's Greatest Shave.
The whole school rallied around them in the school courtyard as they committed to the cut and raised more than $1200 for the cause.
Echuca College assistant principal Andrew Briggs said it was a great event for the school.
“It's important for us as a school to show our students that there are social obligations out there in the community,” he said.
“We've been able to educate them and now they know they can raise money for important causes like these.
“Everyone has been touched by cancer in one way or another so it's great to see an event that helps with research and hopefully eventually finding a cure.”
Hairdresser Natalie Sands was invited to shave the heads of the teachers in front of a crowd of students.
“I had a lot of students say they wanted to take part and raise a whole lot more money next year, so if we can get permission we're hoping to do that,” organiser and teacher Paul Dolan said.
