But on Friday, students from Echuca East Primary School could have hopped out of bed, into the car and through the school gate.
The best part – it was all in the name of charity as the school raised money for children in foster care.
“We saw it advertised and thought it would be a good idea for our school,” Echuca East Primary School education support Serren Verhey said.
Ms Verhey said having a day such as this was important for making the students aware of different situations in life.
“All children should be aware that everyone is different and come from different paths of life,” she said.
“This will help them grow and become empathetic and kind humans.”
While 90 per cent of students and staff filled the school with colourful superhero themed pj's and animal onesies, it was important to get the serious message across.
“Currently there are 48,000 children are in foster care and 72 per cent of these will not complete high school and 98 per cent are below the reading average,” she said.
The school was able to raise more than $300 for the cause.
