With five trolleys in tow, members of the trailer committee picked out items at Big W and Bunnings.
“We’ve been doing it for a while,” trailer co-ordinator Lal Whyte said.
“Electrical goods, sporting goods, kids’ toys ... we just fill them up.”
The first prize is the trailer itself along with everything inside it, from an outdoor dining set, camping gear and appliances to toys and games, an esky and more.
Last year’s winner was a family from Koyuga, and they were grateful to be successful.
“They were amazed,” Mr Whyte said.
“They were there a couple of hours after we rang them to say they won.
“Between now and Christmas, there’s a lot of visitors in Echuca, and we’re probably lucky if we get someone close to town.
“We haven’t really had to deliver it over any distances yet, but we always say, ‘we’ll get it to you somehow’.”
Every Monday and Tuesday, they will be at Big W, on Wednesdays they’re at Aldi, Tatts Lotto on Thursdays, and Fridays they head to Echuca Post Office.
Each member has a raffle book, and the crew is stationed at different locations in the lead-up to the raffle draw at noon on Christmas Eve.
“It’s amazing how many we sell that day,” Mr Whyte said.
“Everyone is standing around there waiting. We have a 44-gallon drum, and it’s always chockers.”
The number one prize is the filled trailer, number two is a lawn mower, three is a barbecue, fourth is a $200 fuel voucher, number five is a microwave and sixth is an air fryer.
Raffle tickets are $2 each or three for $5.
“I think we average about $10,000 in ticket sales and the money goes to needy causes around the town,” Mr Whyte said.
“We supported Rochy with the flood last year.”
Another festive staple, the signature Lions Club Christmas Cakes, are also available to purchase from members, as well as at various businesses in town.
