And it's not over yet.
While bookings and attractions were near the point of bursting over the Good Friday to Easter Monday period, many are reporting that business will continue to boom for the rest of the school holidays.
It is a sharp contrast to the same time last year when lockdowns hit the local industry hard.
Echuca Moama Tourism chief executive Kathryn Mackenzie said the whole industry was celebrating.
“Everyone is overjoyed,” she said.
“Not just at Easter, but people staying on post-Easter. Normally we see people going home on Easter Monday, but with school holidays this year it's not the case.
“People are staying longer, they're enjoying the post-Easter period, so the towns still feel like they're in holiday mode.
“And especially with the weather, people are looking for more things they can do around the town. They're looking at our attractions throughout the area.
“People are just enjoying being out and having things to do and that is having a massive impact on the local industry.”
Ms Mackenzie said with events such as Moama Lights planned for the coming months, the Echuca-Moama tourism industry had something to look forward to as its rebound continued.
“We're hoping to see the town remain filled through school holidays,” she said.
“And then we will turn our attention to new ideas. We are hoping over the three weeks of the Moama Lights event we are getting people into the town, and we have other events planned beyond that into winter.
“We're in the planning mode to keep a step ahead and to showcase our towns in the best possible way in order to continue to attract visitors.
“We know that historically winter is a tough time, so we want to find ways to change that and get people coming back through those months."
