The new Echuca KOSS will be built on the premises of the Echuca Primary School and will offer a minimum of 60 additional places.
Shine Bright, who has an existing kindergarten in Echuca, has been chosen as the kinder’s new education provider.
Shine Bright CEO Richie Evans said the team at Shine Bright is proud of its involvement in the Campaspe and is looking forward to the new KOSS.
“We’re proud of our presence in Campaspe, we have 12 kindergartens and this will be our 13th,” he said.
“We think we do a good job and we’re very excited to be part of the team that’s going to be opening a state-of-the-art facility and we’re keen to get started.”
The Echuca Primary School Kindergarten is one of 20 new or extended kindergartens across Victoria that are set to open doors in January, 2025.
It is also the second KOSS throughout the Campaspe with the first opening in Kyabram earlier this year.
The KOSS project aims to provide a smoother transition for students to primary school while getting the most out of their early education.
It will also ease a load for parents as it will mean one less drop-off to do on school mornings with two places of learning located together.
Although the design of the new space is a well-kept secret, next year’s students can look forward to two new state-of-the-art rooms and outdoor learning areas.
The Victorian Government has invested $2.7 billion to fund the KOSS project.
Campaspe Shire Council is managing enrolments through the Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme and will be working off the current wait list before taking on new enrolments.
Although the kindergarten is set to have a capacity of 60 students, there is a possibility for more enrolments if sessions are spread out during the week.
