Repairs on the site started in November 2024, starting with installing a new concrete foundation around the base of the tower to strengthen it.
A representative from Coliban Water said they are still assessing any damage and are taking care to minimise major changes to the towers' appearance.
“We’re currently assessing damaged and loose sections on the tower’s façade,” they said.
“While works are taking place, temporary fencing has been installed to ensure community safety. Scaffolding will be installed in February to assist further inspection.
“Due to the heritage significance of the tower, rendering and repairs will be conducted to minimise any change to the tower’s appearance.”
The February works will be largely focused on repairs and rendering and is expected to be completed by May 2025.
