Chief executive Robyn Lindsay reflected on the role each staff member and volunteer played to provide a high level of service.
“We are so grateful for the contribution that everyone makes at Echuca Regional Health to enable us to deliver care to the community,” she said.
“Whether it’s in an inpatient environment, or outpatients or in people’s homes, we are really mindful that for every patient that we care for or resident in Glanville Village, if you lined up all the people behind the scenes, it’s around 30 people that contribute to one person receiving care.”
Quarterly and annual awards were also given on the day.
Angela Cantwell, Sally Minchin, David Dowie and his dog Penny, and Jessica Eeles were finalists for the CARE Values Award, with Sally Minchin taking out the win.
In the Leadership Award, it was Karen Taylor, Katherine Formica and Chelsea Nevins nominated. Karen Taylor won the award.
The Innovation Quality and Research Award saw the Hospital In The Home team of Allira O’Brien and Lauren Thompson, and Clinical Trials Working Group team of Sarah Dixon, Meaghan Douglas, Liz McKeown, Lyn Jefferson and Nadine Glanville nominated. HITH co-ordinators Allira O’Brien and Lauren Thompson took out the honour.
The Cancer and Wellness Centre HSR Representatives team of Sue Healey and Mel Courts won the Workplace Safety Award, while Laura Nicole and Kim Young were also finalists.
The Annual Volunteer Award finalists were Ruth Turpin, Jenny Stevens, Jenny Osland, Dave Dowie and his dog Penny, Judy Clarke and Ann Higgins. Jenny Stevens took out the top gong.
Katherine Formica was honoured with the inaugural CEO Discretionary Award, grateful for the recognition and the hard work of her team.
“I’ve been a nurse for 30 years, and I’ve done lots of things that I’m proud of, but I think what I’m most proud of is being part of the team that has built ERH at home over the last four or five years,” she said.
“I absolutely couldn’t have done it without amazing leadership from, Cynthia (Robins), who is my manager.
“All credit to my teams, they do the most amazing work at home.
“I’m so proud of the work that we do at ERH at home. I’m so proud to work here.”
